About VIDDIV

We believe that filmmakers and content creators should get paid. The future of independent film depends on it.

Our Mission

At VIDDIV our mission is to create a platform that allows independent producers, filmmakers and content creators to benefit from the fruits of their labor. Too often, producers are the last person to profit from their own work. Distributors, exhibitors, agents and managers all make money before the financiers of a project have even broken even–if that happens at all. If financiers cannot earn money on their investments, they will cease to make those investments and that will spell the end for independent cinema. That is already happening. The solution to this is to pay producers commensurate to the revenue their movies generate. This will attract high-quality content, and high-quality content will attract viewers, and viewers generate revenue.

A distributor’s attitude is typically, “your production costs are not our problem.” Fair enough. But in that case, the distributor’s production costs should not be the producer’s problem. Nonetheless the filmmaker typically pays the distributor’s travel expenses, hotel expenses, advertising expenses, and festival entrance fees, etc. Not at Viddiv.

Currently our model is to split the gross revenue with the filmmaker or content creator 80/20, creator to Viddiv.tv. Gross, not net. No expenses, no fees, no tax withholding. We are certain this means the filmmaker is given the highest profit margin of any streaming service out there. And to back that up we will provide clear, concise accounting reports showing views, rental receipts, and revenue. We want to make VIDDIV the premier cinema streaming service of our time.

Our History

VIDDIV is a streaming platform created by movie producers and filmmakers. As industry professionals, we understand the frustration of dealing with distributors and exhibitors. We want to create a space where filmmakers can feel like they are benefiting from total transparency.
