Nanook of the North

The classic, popular, and first commercially successful documentary film about the life and times of “Nanook” the Eskimo, and his family. A must-see for cinema fans and history buffs. Although sometimes criticized (by academic Karens) for some staged scenes, the revolutionary footage documenting indigenous Eskimo life was groundbreaking at the time and historically fascinating now. The cinematic work is just, if not more, notable than the lives of the Eskimos themselves.
